Bear Lake

Every fourth of July my family goes to Bear Lake! I love this tradition and hope we can do it for a long time. I look forward to it every year, probably one of my favorite vacations. This year Sean and I were able to stay up there the whole time because we were able to get off work. It was a ton of fun, i think it was the hottest year yet up there, but hey i wasn't complaining. I loved it! On the fourth they have a ton of different activities you can participate in like sidewalk chalk competition, volleyball tournament, 3 point shoot out competition and so on. Sean did the 3 point competition and ended up winning the whole thing. There were 30 guys who competed and he beat them all. Yup that's my husband! oh yeah!! He won a free large ice cream, victory never tasted so good. So glad he lets me benefit from his talents! It was definitely a fun year, and we can't wait to take our cute 9 month old there next year. He's going to love it!

We're Jammin'

..in the Bahamas!  Sean and I went on a cruise in May with my family!  My sister just graduated from Columbia and got her Masters in education.  Such an amazing accomplishment that i don't think anyone who hasn't done it could understand.  I'm so proud to call her my older sister and look up to her so much!  I know i will never get a Masters in anything but i hope to get that drive and determination like she has.  We Parker's sure know how to celebrate, Bahamas here we come!  It was so much fun, i love spending time with family.  One day we went to Atlantis, i couldn't really do anything but it was really cool to see and i know Sean had a blast!  It was nice to step away from reality for awhile.  Wish we could go back. . . tomorrow!!
 See ya later Utah

 What's wrong with this picture??

I know this is way gross but this is my toe. . on vacation. When we left it didn't look that bad so I was like yeah it can wait until i get back to get it fixed. . . bad idea!

That's what they pulled out. . . its not that bad right?

Goodbye Betty . . . Hello Iron Fist

We bought a car!! Sean's car Betty was starting to have frequent hiccups so we wanted to buy a car before she kicked the can. Towards the end of January we found a 2006 Honda civic for sale. We went and looked at it, and it seemed great! The interior was perfect, the outside had a few flaws, and it drove great! So we took it. . . little did we know what was to come two weeks later. Our new car had a cracked engine block whoo hoo!!! Supposedly when you have a cracked engine you can't just fix the crack . . but have to get an entire new engine. Doesn't that just sound like fun? We took it to the dealer and they said oh yeah its a manufacture defect so we can replace it for free. That was a relief. . . for about 2 seconds. They saw that it had a salvage title and said all the warranties were void. Even if it was just in a bumper to bumper like ours was. All i can say is thank goodness for my dad who is a pro at finding good deals. He found a 2010 engine that only had 13000 miles on it for $1400 dollars. We bought that and a few weeks later my dad was in town to put the new engine in. Once again thank goodness for a dad who knows cars. It was a pretty big project but they got it done and it ran great. . . . UNTIL. . . we had a leak in the fuel tank. We were getting gas and it went everywhere. My dad wasn't in town anymore so we took it to my cousin's cousin to check it out. They had to replace something something that i don't know the name of to get it fixed! walllaaa back to normal. It was all fixed. . . UNTIL. . . we were on our way to Bear Lake driving up parley's canyon when the speedometer started to go crazy and the car was jolting back and forth. . . the speed sensors went out. Meaning the car doesn't know when to shift so it goes all over the place. We are in the process of getting that fixed right now so we'll see how it goes. All in all. . . this car has been a headache, money pit, and frustrating. But Sean and I feel so blessed that we were/are able to financially pay for all it has cost us. We are grateful for my dad who knows cars and saved us probably 5000 to fix it rather than a dealer. We are thankful for the lessons we have learned on buying a car, and you can never be too careful. Once this is all said and done we are going to have a great car that will hopefully last us forever. Keep your fingers crossed!!

That's the crash from the previous owner

Taking out the engine

Goodbye Betty, We really miss you!  ps we did sale her for a little cash, hopefully she is running ok for the girl that bought her. . .

I have a feeling something POSITIVE is about to happen. . . .

and it sure did!  It's a positive ladies and gents!  Baby Severts is coming September 2012.  We are so excited and can't believe it.  It was a pleasant surprise.  Here's the story. . without going into too much detail:) After talking with Sean one evening, he jokingly put an embarrassing post on facebook asking people if he should be worried that I had not had a period in 50 days.  He did quickly delete it but a few people saw it and i was mortified he said the "p" word on facebook.  A few days later still  nothing, so i seriously started to question. . . could i be? is this possible? and so on.  Sean was working late at the Jazz game, but i couldn't wait i needed to know right then.  I took the test then started doing other things because i knew it was going to be negative anyways.  I few minutes later i took a glance and saw those two pink lines. . . i could not believe it! I think i paced our apartment at least 100 times and couldn't wait for Sean to get home.  I looked up on the computer about how far along i could be and it said i was just over 6 weeks.  When Sean got home i didn't say anything.  i knew he would go straight to the computer so i left the test by it had the website i was on pulled up.  He was like why is this stuff on here? I could tell when it finally clicked, his eyes got so big.  He was shocked but completely happy!  We can't wait to meet him, 10 weeks left:)

He didn't believe me so i had to take another one that was a little bit more CLEAR:)
