Cooper Sean has FINALLY arrived

Yes folks its true, i am no longer pregnant!  I thought our baby boy would never make his debut but on October 9th, he decided to grace us with his presence.  The birth story is kinda long so if you prefer picture books over a novel go ahead and scroll to the pictures, but if not here you go:

At my 40 week appointment i was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced, i also had a non stress test done and i was having contractions 8 minutes apart. My doctor thought for sure i would be having this baby before Friday (that was on a Wednesday). Friday came. . NO baby! I went in for another non stress test, still dilated to a 2 but my contractions were 3 minutes apart (crazy thing is i couldn't feel them at all.) I thought for sure they were going to admit me. . but nope! Because i was a first time mom, they wouldn't take me until i was more dilated or at least a week past my due date. They scheduled an induction for Tuesday morning (October 9) At my Friday appointment my doctor said she didn't think I'd make it through the weekend. . .Saturday came and went, then Sunday. . .Goodbye Sunday! Finally came Monday (a week past my due date) sitting at my grandparents house waiting and waiting. At 6:30 i thought my water broke so off to the hospital we went. I was still dilated to a 2 and 80%. My water actually didn't break but my contractions were coming every 2-3 minutes (still couldn't feel them) so they kept me especially since i was due to come in early the next morning anyways. They started me on pitocin and i finally had the joy of feeling contractions. Needless to say I got the epidural at 2:30 am and boy does that stuff work miracles. At 4:30 my water broke for real this time and i was at 4 cm 90%. Right after my water broke i started to feel really bad back pain. i kept pushing the epidural button but it didn't ease the pain at all, just made my legs more numb:) I guess cooper had turned and was facing sunny side up, putting a ton of pressure on my tail bone. They had the anesthesiologist come back in to see if there was anything he could do for the pain. He tried a high dosage of something (i can't remember what it was) but it didn't work. At 7:00 the pain and pressure was at an all time high. The nurse came in to check me and i was 100% complete. They wanted to wait an hour before pushing so cooper's head could descend more. By 7:30 i couldn't take it anymore and just needed to push! Pushing was the only thing that eased the back pain. I would know when a contraction was coming based on the level of pain in my back. After 3 hours of pushing my doctor came in to help get him out because i was about to give up. She was able to get him out within 10 minutes with the help of a vacuum and an episiotomy. Cooper Sean Severts arrived at 11:09 AM weighing 7lbs 12oz 20.5 inches long. He was absolutely perfect and healthy. Through all that his heart rate never dropped and he didn't show any signs of stress . . .Cooper was a trooper.:) Cooper has been the best baby. He almost sleeps through the night, eats great, barely cries, he's just perfect!! Sean and I could not be happier. This is what life's all about:
